Monochrome Metronome

In a consortium led by Calypsus Brass, Gala Flagello is writing Monochrome Metronome, a 5-7 minute work for brass quintet.

Monochrome Metronome celebrates the vivid color and shifting texture unique to brass quintet. The piece sonically depicts subtle variations of shades within a single color (tempo), highlighting each member of the quintet as they journey through a prism of different energetic landscapes. Through intricate interplay, Monochrome Metronome invites listeners to experience the rich, tender, daring, and vibrant tints and tones that brass has to offer.
