Wishes and Warnings

Wishes and Warnings (2023) explores the resonance and warmth of a single, quintally focused chorale through the lenses of texture, register, and articulation. In this way, the piece’s musical material becomes alternately hopeful and distraught, a lullaby and a proclamation, both wishing with and warning the listener of imagined happenings to come. Thank you to the 2023 Fromm Players for premiering Wishes and Warnings as part of the Piece-a-Day Project at Tanglewood Music Center.
